Description: In the French mystery Black Box, Arthur Seligman (Jose Garcia) is injured in a car accident, winding up comatose in a hospital in Cherbourg. When he awakens, Arthur is being attended to by a nurse named Isabelle Kruger (Marion Cotillard), who tells him that before he awoke, he was talking, almost incoherently. Nevertheless, she tried to write down what she could of what he said and gives him her notes. While Kruger is unable to understand what is in the notes, Arthur, through his subconscious (“Black Box”), begins to piece his ramblings together. As Arthur attempts to make sense of the notes, several problems arise. Since he lives in Paris, why is he in hospital in Cherbourg? Why didn’t his brother to whom he was so close visit him in the hospital? Did he hit a boy on a bicycle in the accident? Who is Sylvain Gamen who wants to kill him? In putting the pieces of his story together, Arthur is able to uncover guilty memories which he had repressed since he was a child and solve a long-buried mystery.
