Description: This is a nostalgic treat for all you video nasty VHS lovers out there. Take a trip down memory lane and experience Ray Dennis Steckler’s truly awful BLOOD SHACK, as it was watched by gorehounds and horror video collectors in the UK in the eighties.
A female inherits a deserted farm which home is said to be haunted by “the Chooper,” the sword-wielding soul of a vengeance-seeking Indian, in this Ray Dennis Steckler (Vendetta and Perverted Passion) shocker.

Three film reels walk into a bar: an educational short about rodeos, a found-footage documentary about an old west ghost story, and a DIY horror film with a budget of about eighteen dollars. Only the films were dropped in a blender and reassembled by an alcoholic hobo. So you get boring, wonderful, and embarrassing, all at once. Even the music is schizophrenic, from the wonderful opening electronic sounds to the wildly inappropriate lounge tunes accompanying a long talk about water rights. As an added bonus, Blood Shack has all of the amazing saturated color and fever-dream atmosphere of Incredibly Strange Creatures and even some genuinely beautiful photography. Sure, there are lots of problems with it, but at a lean seventy minutes, you can’t really go wrong. Other highlights include the totally unexpected TWIST ENDING, and the genuinely adorable Steckler kids. Strongly recommended.
Scariest part of the movie? Human beings willingly coming into contact with that mattress. Holy crap.
