Description: Hong Kong’s favourite fat guy Kent Cheng stars as Fat Piao, a ballsy journalist desperate to break a story about a vampire that’s going around sucking people dry, or as the subtitles put the vampire kills them with “overbleeding”. Along the way Piao starts a relationship with the super hot Emily Chu and befriends an oddball deadbeat played by Keith Kwan, all while pissing off the local enforcement. Soon enough, it becomes clear that the only person standing between the vampire and its innocent potential victims is Piao.
I really enjoyed this Hong Konger. I picked it up knowing nothing about it and it was certainly a pleasant surprise. A fun cast of familiar faces deliver a serviceable horror story with a few cheesy gags thrown in for good measure. The ending is a corker and surprisingly gory. Definitely recommended for horror fans who want to see how Hong Kong tackles the genre and for those that dig their HK cinema.

Hong Kong’s favorite fat guy, ha ha! It must suck to be fat in China because every movie this guy is in his name is either “Fatty” or “Fat” or some variation on the theme. I guess if you lose a limb over there everyone calls you “Stubby”. Geez, does the guy need to be reminded he’s fat every fuckin’ second or what? Kent Cheng is cool, though. His best movies are “Run and Kill”, and “Crime Story”. I’m surprised you guys don’t have “Run and Kill”, that movie is right up this site’s alley.
