Description: At the provincial medical warehouse containers were kept with the zombies which got there by mistake many years ago. One fine day, far seal packaging has been broken, poisonous gas has resurfaced, and now dead from a nearby cemetery are alive and want to eat …

Free remake of the great low-budget film “Survival of the Dead” (1968), master of “horror movies” by George Romero. American critics opinions about the pictures of Dan O’Bannon divided. Some thought that it combines horror and parody episodes. But I would like to join the point of view of others who believed that genre and style, this belt is quite eclectic. It starts as a comedy about a dead man with a suburban New Orleans cemetery, revived under the influence of some chemical drug. Zombies eat brains of people and terrorizing the population of the county. And towards the end of the film becomes more serious, unexpectedly acquiring ostrokritichesky and even accusatory pathos. It turns out that the chemical drug was invented in secret military laboratories, where, in all likelihood, are preparing a new biological weapon.

Screenwriter Dan O’Bannon, who had previously been a great success, composing a fantastic picture of “Alien” for the first time decided to try his hand at directing. Perhaps his band would have been better if the style is reminiscent of the grim dystopia in the above-mentioned work by Ridley Scott. However, the film O’Bannon “brought to life” in two years continued – “The Return of the Living Dead II», and even then there is a third series.

Review: This is, perhaps, the real spin-off of the legendary George Romero film “Night of the Living Dead.” Well, or a loose sequel, though, as someone said. At least, the movie “Return of the Living Dead” – not some fake, just copying the name of the famous franchise. Honestly, I personally expect from the picture better, but again was disappointed, though not much.

The plot of the film is developing rapidly, thereby not allowing the viewer to get bored. In addition, the music maintains an atmosphere of comedy horror film. And watch the typical youth 80 of the main characters is pretty fun. But despite the advantages listed, sometimes spoils the viewing experience is not far-fetched to the end of the script. Even the end of the movie shows something quickly, as if the crew did not have more time to shoot. Of course, it is clear that this is a very ordinary trash, shot in the spirit of the 80s, but still small defects can be avoided. And that really is interesting in the film, it is not only the availability of fast zombies, who, most likely, after this tape changed slower and less dangerous of the Romero movies, and also the fact that the dead are not only able to mumble, but also to talk . It is this course and is an original, even though at first glance looks pretty ridiculous. If we talk about the performance of the actors, it can be argued that they played quite well.

In general, if we consider the film as a film by Dan O’Bannon zombie – it has pretty well. But if it is regarded as a normal job – you can look just once, but only for your reference. Advise to watching this picture, I do not all become. As for me, the film is not for everybody.

“Return of the Living Dead” – it’s really rock ‘n’ roll horror film, full of enthusiasm, humor and quite a viable ghouls. Scenes from him forever etched in my memory, and long phrases pilfered a quote. What is surprising, even the zombies are remembered forever.
