The bizarre story concerns Alabama, a black jazz musician in San Francisco, who discovers, by chance, the hidden bounty of a famous magician. Among the relics is a confection which had been used in scientific Nazi experiments, and is still being sought by an underbelly society of groovy, rock-concert producing vampires. These creatures of the night (and day) learn of Alabama’s discovery, and use him as a scapegoat in a sinister world-domination plot. It’s not just a horror flick combining vampires, magic, ghosts, and voodoo. It’s blaxploitation. It’s a comedy. It’s a dope flick. It’s a musical. And it positively reeks of vintage 70’s glam & glitter.
