Beverly Hills Madam

Lil Hutton (Faye Dunaway,)  the “Beverly Hills Madam,”  runs a highly-successful business providing high-end prostitutes to wealthy clients.  Hutton’s “girls” live a glamorous life-style, but there are downsides.  One of them gets pregnant.  A second loses her fiancee when he finds out that she is a prostitute.  A third winds up dead.

One day Hutton, always looking for new “girls,” picks up a hitchhiker, Julie Taylor,  a young woman from a small town in Nebraska who had never been to Los Angeles before.  When Julie is mugged, beaten, and arrested, she  seeks help from  Hutton, who takes her into her home to live until she gets on her feet.  There, Julie learns how much prostitutes earn and how glamorous their lifestyle is. Wanting that for herself, and unaware of the downsides, she becomes one of Hutton’s “girls,”  learning how to be well-groomed and presentable in the process. On one of her first jobs, a client hires her to take a four-day trip on a yacht as  an 18th-birthday present for his virgin son, Justin, with whom  she falls in love.  When Justin, who initially wanted to marry Julie, finds out that Julie is a prostitute, he dumps her.  Now wiser, Julie  runs off realizing that  prostitution is a cold and loveless profession that cannot fulfill her emotional needs, something Hutton knew all too well.
