Review: It’s a great movie with a great philosophy, which once again proves that matter how difficult and complex seem to life, the most ingenious is simple. And to find out what is this simplicity, the visitor must pass exciting and full of adventure path with the main characters of the film, not to miss the slightest detail, as they are closely interrelated.
It is worth noting that movie “Circle of Iron” I’ve had a look in my childhood, but with every new revision I still find new ideas, and from the moral of the movie becomes richer. We all agree that every day we learn something new.
Silent Flute is one of the few films that makes the audience something to think about, think about, philosophize. And do not be surprised that after watching this film You change something, You have a different’ll look at the world, well, or think about something that had never thought of. Definitely, this film in no case should pass by, for then you will be sorry it as though missed something really important. Because as said Nosferatu «every day we learn something new», and Silent Flute will be for You as a cautionary lesson.

Another great movie. This was Bruce Lee’s film. He wrote it and was going to play the role that Carradine ended up getting. Unfortunately Bruce died after writing the script.
Its an amazing story. Well worth a watch.
I cannot imagine anyone seeing this moving and not “needing” to see it again.
It really makes you think.

I’m really sorry, but whoever gave this review was watching a different film to me! Circle of Iron/Silent Flute was, in my opinion, pretentious junk from a guy who, because his surname was Carradine thought he could do no wrong. Well, he could! ‘Lone Wolf McQuade’, ‘The Long Riders’, even ‘Kill Bill’ weren’t bad at all, but as soon as Carradine gets into his philosophical, mystic persona the story goes out of the window. I feel the same way about his ‘Kung Fu’ TV series. Considering he was a student of Bruce Lee you’d have expected his martial arts to be a lot better than they were.

Sorry, Phil, but you just aren’t smart enough to appreciate this film.
This film was written by Bruce Lee and James Coburn, with the idea that Bruce Lee would play the different roles played by Carradine, and Coburn would play the “Cord” role.
It’s intended to be as much about the Zen philosophy behind martial arts than a matter of just chop socky crap.
It is a brilliant film, which could be re-made with a better budget into an excellent film, easily, by someone like Ang Lee.
And, Phil, you’d likely Still Not Get It.
To others: If all you’re looking for is the latest Jackie Chan/Jet Li masterpiece, no, this ain’t it**. But if you want an INTELLIGENT Martial Arts film, this is what you’re seeking. The MA is decent but not fantastic, but it’s not and never was the point of the movie. A shame we never got the Bruce Lee/James Coburn version. THAT would have been awesome.

** Not to suggest those are bad, but they are created with a different intention from the very start

I’d be amused where you heard this. One reason why Lee gave up Hollywood and went back to Hong Kong was because he got passed over for the role in Kung Fu, clearly a Chinese man, in favor of Carradine, a fairly “white” guy.Lee was generally insulted by the attitudes of Hollywood towards Oriental characters.
He and James COBURN were friends, and he probably taught Coburn (see previous comment)
