Description: A houswife, fed up with her each day routine, can make changes in her hair, her wardrobe along with her makeup, and starts to just take in the personality of a woman who’d died 5 years earlier.
Karen Black plays the title role, a dowdy, downtrodden homemaker plagued by continual nightmares. Seeking a getting away from the woman stifling lifestyle, Black dons a blond wig, garish makeup, and a brand new identification. But information technology transforms out that the woman Black pretends to be may really exist—and could have even more than a moving understanding of the Occult.
A completely coherent Richard Matheson script is muddied by Gordon Hessler’s kaleidoscopic direction. Karen Black’s fingernails-on-the-blackboard overall performance is but certainly one of numerous detriments towards the full satisfaction for the Strange Possession of Mrs. Oliver

Review: I rather disagree with whoever wrote the above review for Allmovie.com. There’s not THAT much wrong with THE STRANGE POSSESSION. Okay, it’s far from the greatest TV movie you’ll ever see, but it’s solid enough (In style, rather reminiscent of an episode of the Brian Clemens anthology series THRILLER), well played and, at seventy-two minutes, doesn’t outstay it’s welcome.

I extracted the ads from the film itself but they had such a localised period charm that I couldn’t resist adding them to the torrent. They’re bloody awful and I’d wholeheartedly recommend downloading them. The one for The Grand Prospect Hall, in particular, is a real winner!
