Description: Let’s just put it this way: I saw a lobby card for this film about 15 years and have been hoping to see it ever since…in fact, of all of those wishlists we keep, this one has remained at the top of mine the whole time…then, about a week ago, I found a torrent. Even better: English subs!
After the Sandra Julien diptych of I Am a Nymphomaniac and I am Frigid…why?, Club Prive finds Pecas in one of his lightest moods, almost taking a tourist’s enjoyment of Paris (as if he were taking a vacation himself, as a director, from psychosexual gloom), and certainly we can enjoy the cast of bra-less ladies (Anne Libert and Caludine Beccarie will be familiar to Euro sex film fans of the 70’s)! Derry Hall’s lounge score is the perfect complement. Most importantly: the club itself is a playground for Pecas’ superb visual imagination…and there’s plenty of mannequins!
