Love Me Deadly plays like some romantic soap opera, except it’s about a chick her gets her rocks off by getting busy with dead guys. The happy happy piano music & the corny soft lens romance interlude section is so freakin strange. Reminds me of that part in Benji when he frolics with his lady dog friend to the song ‘I Feel Love’.
Mixing it up with the bizarre storyline, the familiar actors & it’s all quite absurdist, yet it’s all played very melodramatic & rather casual. It feels like an Italian gothic horror film from the same era, just replace satanists with a necrophiliac cult instead.
What the heck is Major (Lyle Waggoner) Steve from Wonder Woman doing in this?
And there’s the blonde Christopher Stone who went on to star in The Howling & Cujo & a zillion TV shows.
