Description: In this exciting Nu Image action flick, the macho Frank Zagarino must do battle with a former special forces compatriot (Billy Drago) who is now a cult leader. Megalomaniac Drago runs a Jonestown-esque religious sect which has run afoul of the FBI…but when a Waco style raid of their compound fails to result in the capture of the enigmatic cult figure and a general’s daughter is subsequently taken hostage, it’s time for tough guy Zagarino to take over. What we have here is lots of gunplay, explosions, martial arts, brutal fights, big stunts, tons of cheese and (perhaps best of all) Billy Drago going way over-the-top as an unstoppable madman.
If we talk about the pros and cons of the picture, we can say that the positive moments much more. Seen money on this film have not regretted or put them right. First, all very well filmed: environment, nature scene, Frank Zagarino rolling on the river by speed boat, all this creates a great atmosphere of all that is happening. Very happy that was filmed in the USA and not in some gray areas of the destroyed factories in Bulgaria or Romania. Secondly, the sets and costumes were well done, cultists dressed in the manner of hippies and when viewing really think that the flower children praying in a room with lots of candles, listening to the Beatles, and not Guns N Roses. Thirdly, due to the fact that once again was produced by Danny and AVI Lerners explosions of the movie was missing and they even justified. So if someone shoots, so only the rocket launcher. All of the explosions were shot for this picture, and not how other militants were present only in the cutting of high-budget tapes. Fourthly, music, which in many action films category “B” looks faceless. Immediately, a cheerful party on the saxophone and the trumpet, even like the motives of the pictures like “Lethal weapon” series or “Nico” with Steven Seagal. At the same time, in some places, the scenes of battles like and sounded, but somehow inexpressive. Pleased that there is even a title song performed by Wendy Oldfield, which is named after the movie “Never say die”. Well, as for the cons, so is the fighting scene at the end of the picture. They are not very high quality and it is clear that people are waiting for the attack impact or simply shows the injured site, although the knife won’t even reach. Although in this movie Frank Zagarino is in good physical shape, but somehow when people simply blow leaves into a glass or ten meters, that does not look convincing and manipulative. The conclusion is that the movie is better to watch for those who like action with shooting and explosions, not with elements of hand-to-hand combat.
As a result, we have a very good action, which is head and shoulders above many of the crafts in this genre not only recorded in the 2000’s, but the 90-ies.
