Description: Adapted from the novel DYNAMITE IS GOOD TO DRINK by ‘Frederic Dard’ (but apparently a different one than the Frederic DARD listed at wiki as he seemingly never wrote a novel of this title)

A tough, sweaty, manly exploitation drama set in a remote open-cast South American copper mine which Chris Mitchum foolishly signs a 6 months contract to work at

After a day of hard labour the miners blow what little money they earn of the only booze available which is made from ‘Catcus and Dynamite’ (which apparently gets you violently drunk – does anyone here who lives in the desert and owns some dynamite wish to verify this?) and the sweaty whores that are bussed in once a week

Mitchum becomes friends (well sort of) with a burly long timer who is at the mine to hide from the Federales as he has RAPED and STRANGLED the wife of a Federales captain (seen in a blue tinted flashback)

Mitchum also falls in love with the vicious mine commanders wife (Claudine Auger – who mostly just sits around looking fucking bored) and this bring him into conflict with the mine commander (who fantasies about bitchslapping and kicking her while taking it out on a mine whore)

After some rough and violent incidents Mitchum and his rapey pal decide to leave the mine but are pursued by the Federales on horseback – the aggrieved husband/captain still determined to have his revenge – – –
