Description: Writer Ned Kendela sister Sally asks to come into their parents’ house, what would say goodbye to his father, who dies. Parents’ home located in a remote, isolated area. After arriving there, Ned is immersed in memories of his beautiful sister, with whom they were twins, and his youth. These evoke memories of family secrets, long buried in the past …

Review: Australians have long been known for their strong national character and spirit “of advanced capitalism.” Strong, sturdy stern Englishmen cultivated natives. To be honest – the films are the same. Australian cinema is for me the clearest example of national cinema.

This film – “Beautiful Kate” – is not an exception. History, as shown on the screen, completely wild (though in our time is not much surprise) and far-fetched, but at the same time, really want to believe what is happening. Thanks largely to the actors. The film’s protagonist Ned arrives at the house of his childhood, where his father died. Upon arrival of his memories of the past are beginning to go, smoothly flowing from one time to another. Here is a young Ned’s sister stroking her back, but he was stroking his back aged lover. These memories are scattered throughout the film, forcing the viewer with a hero to collect the fatal events of those days, bit by bit. The format is quite unusual and interesting. Memories removed from the first person (the effect of presence), a little blurry, which makes them more similar to the pictures from the past. Also in the film an excellent country music, the atmosphere of the slums of Australia.
