Description: Young and sensual Julie Vomser (Romy Schneider – My Lover My Son) for a long time is indifferent to her husband, an alcoholic. Barely acquainted with the young writer Jeff, she becomes his lover. A few days later they were carefully develop a plan of the perfect crime: Julie kills her husband, Jeff will get rid of the body, and all the considerable legacy, of course, will get an inconsolable widow. The first part of the plan was executed, but things start to develop in a completely different scenario…
Review: The film starts very intriguing: tired of family life meets a young woman and a male once they were plotting to kill her rich husband, and drink too much. Shortly after reduction plan in response to its start to cause the police for questioning – and then starts full of falsehood and deception game …
Obviously, Claude Chabrol was very pretty Hitchcock and motives “Family plot” and “Vertigo” is easy to see in this movie. Meanwhile, the plot seems too straightforward. The only good impression cause two policemen – unobtrusively investigating the case.
Otherwise, script and director’s shortcomings (lack of dynamism, not disclosed to the characters) rescue wonderful actors – Romy Schneider, Rod Steiger, Jean Rochefort. Movie is worth it to give him attention.
In my opinion – the film Dirty Hands lacks the sexual connotation – it seems to be there, but then somehow shyly hiding in the corner. I think it is the lack of erotic component (and in many ways it is built on the scenario) and lubricates the impressions of the film.
