Uncut English language Greek-subtitled version of ORGIA DE LOS MUERTOS aka THE HANGING WOMAN aka BEYOND THE LIVING DEAD under the title Terror of the Living Dead (zombie singular and plural is “zombi” in Italian so I guess they just added the “s” when creating the English titles without being aware of the spelling difference). Although the Spanish version was missing gore and nudity and the THE HANGING WOMAN English version was also slightly trimmed of gore and nudity as well as some dialogue, the film’s export version RETURN OF THE ZOMBIS was also released on tape in the US by Wizard Video. This version had all of the gore and nudity but lost some expository passages to fit the film onto a ninety minute cassette (the export version would run almost 98 minutes at film speed). This version runs 94 minutes because it was originally in PAL. Quality is not so good because it was digitized from an NTSC copy of the PAL original (which explains the 29.97 framerate and 720×480 image size). A Japanese subtitled release was also uncut but had some optical fogging during some of the nude scenes.

Despite this apparently being the uncut version, this film has very little gore although it does have plenty of nudity. Despite the lack of gore I really enjoyed watching this as the acting was very good and there was some extremely amusing banter between the main characters. The two leading ladies were really sweet (even the one who was the villain), and the only downer was the surprise ending – just when you thought they were going to live happily ever after!
