Description: In the English countryside farmer tested device with radiation liquidated pests in the fields. There is a “small” side-effect of radiation rebel deads. Zombie cannibals commit atrocious murders, and police inspector blames them male newcomer David.

This may be considered blasphemy in some quarters, but in my opinion this was the only truly great zombie film of the 1970s aside from Dawn of the Dead.  Sure, there were a few good zombie movies and a lot of fun bad ones, but I can’t look at any of the rest as examples of truly artful, intelligent moviemaking.  This one may be seen (not without justification) as a blatant ripoff of Night of the Living Dead, but I think it brought enough of a novel atmosphere and contained more than enough style and class to be a worthy addition to the genre.  While it’s missing the cheesy fun of the Italian zombie gutchompers, the atmosphere of dread and not-so-subtle attacks on authoritarianism and a mindless capitalist society more than make up for any shortcomings.

The first European response Romero dead “shake”, a product of the Italian-Spanish production. For this reason, the film has the second name “Living dead at Manchester Morgue.”

The story takes place in England, in a small town, where the effects of radiation waves, agricultural engineer intended to kill parasites and insects begin to revive the recently deceased people. Ghouls have tremendous force and vitality, even brain damage them uneasy. Only fire helps young heroes escape the scourge.

Gorgeous make-up, beautiful scenery of British heartland, a great, almost a detective mood atmosphere. This film is already doubly look now – an unforgettable picture of life in Britain in the 70s.

Review: The only thing worth seeing the film “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie” of Spanish director Jorge Grau (director of a rape/revenge drama Code of Hunt), so it’s for the sake of the beautiful landscape, against which it was filmed. True, they are more suitable for a good fantasy than a mediocre zombie movie. Despite the fact that the tape Grau, one of the twenty best films about zombies of all time, I was totally impressed with it.

Game two main actors are very weak. Many episodic characters, played much better. The only one whose game I would single out from the rest – Jeannine Mestre. She played the sister of the main character – drug addict on the verge of breaking. The rest of the actors are allocated only for its excessive affectation. Confused by the lack of any appreciable soundtrack (offscreen rhythmic breaths and heartbeats do not count).

Zombies in the film, not much different from the people. Their feature – a red eye and a distinctive gait (that does not stop dead at the right time significantly increase its speed). Moreover, zombies sample Jorge Grau, were even social beings. They are able to work together, to think, to remember and even revenge. This aspect of the film pleasantly surprised. On the positive side of the picture is perfectly captured add bloody scenes, although make-up, for example, as such, no.

The dramatic ending to the film The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue is also worthy of praise, however, badly tarnished his bad acting, but the idea is all the same original. Picture is clearly not enough dynamic range and good sound.
