The writer director Alberto Bevilacqua draws its history from a story by Boccaccio, and despite attempts by the television production of the trial by turning in 16 mm. The result is some interesting, but as usual with Bevilacqua lacks the pathos and genuine abound didacticism. Monica Guerritore remarkable.
