Description: There’s a kind of perverse joy that comes from watching a truly awful movie musical. Bad acting. Bad dancing. Bad songs. The roller disco extravaganza Xanadu is considered by many to be the Mount Everest of bad movie musicals, with the Village People’s Can’t Stop The Music running a close second. But there is another, lesser known, contender that was also released in 1980. Thanks to a series of midnight shows and cable airings, Menahem Golan’s The Apple has achieved a whole new cult fan base. This freaky multi-genre spectacular has earned a place along side Xanadu and Can’t Stop the Music as a movie musical that is so completely misguided that it must be seen to be believed.

Review: Per request, here’s the release of THE APPLE, one of the foulest musicals ever made. A film, made by Menahem Golan (Death Wish 2) that so infuriated its premiere audience in Hollywood, that – according to legend – they tossed their free souvenir soundtracks at the screen, causing extensive damage. Of course, one glance at the movie’s lurid imagery and just one listen to its god-awful tunes and you, too, will find out why. You’ll also be hypnotized, demonized, paralyzed, and – er – sodomized by this, one of the true cult classics. Now if only someone would upload the rare alternate cut that was reportedly found recently!
