Description:
Police inspector Capuana investigates the murder a woman who was found naked in a luxury hotel room Her throat had been cut, her body slashed. A photograph of her making love to a man whose face had been scratched out of the picture had been placed next to the body. She was the wife of a famous general – a member of upper-class society. Because Inspector Capuana believed that no one from her social circle will assist him and all of them are above suspicion, the police begin their investigation with the traditional, lower-class criminal population. Soon other victims of the murderer – also members of upper-class society – begin to appear, all with pictures of them making adulterous love. Despite pressure, Inspector Capuana refocuses his investigation on members of the rich and powerful upper class.
