Description: This biopic tells us the story of one of the most interesting politicians in Britain Frank Pakenhem – seventh Lord Longford, and his famous campaign aimed at protecting the famous killer in the UK – a woman named Myra Hindley. Mayra with her lover Ian Brady, a British press dubbed as the “Marsh murderers,” was sentenced to life imprisonment in a maximum security prison for a highly cruel and heartless killing of innocent young children.

Review of Longford: Murders in the swamp – a series of murders carried out by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley between July 1963 and October 1965 in the area now known as Greater Manchester (England). Crime victims were five children aged between ten and seventeen years old, at least four of whom were sexually assaulted. The case has been called “Murder in the marshes,” because two of the victims were discovered in graves in Seddluort moorland in the Pennine hills.

“Love the sinner but hate the sin. Expect the best from people, not the worst. To believe that anyone would be angry as he was, may be redeemed, sooner or later. ”

In the life of Lord Longford, or just Frank, it was not a little change from English to Irish, from conservatism to socialism, from Protestantism to Catholicism, and yet not without reason called him “the last politician with principles.” Longford theory is simple: he believes that our existence is meaningless without the prospect of an afterlife, which means no religion in the life lacks meaning. So he tries to live by following the path that chose that, I must say, it turned out very well before he met Myra Hindley.

Tom Hooper has decided not to make a film about the killers and not even the most Myra Hindley. This is a film about faith, a very strong faith of man, which means forgiveness. Hindley – Longford for a real test of his faith.

The acting is amazing. Jim Broadbent for a second does not doubt as to the Longford man, defend humanistic principles. By the way, to be more like the present Lord Longford, Broadbent had to wear a prosthetic nose and chin, and in the last scene, he planted himself in the shoes small stones to walk slowly and awkwardly.

Samantha Morton (Myra Hindley) – especially in the scene when she was in prison visits Longford and his wife – is unique. Myra did most of his life was under the influence of Ian Brady (Andy Serkis), and it has not managed to get rid of him.

If you immediately take a position Longford too hard, then, together with his wife Elizabeth (Lindsay Duncan) viewer easier, at least try to understand Myra.

It is impossible not to note the remarkable cinematography Danny Cohen. The camera transmits a kind of state of mind and feelings of each character, it varies as to who is in the picture at the moment.
