Description: Originally called, ‘Maxie,’ this early seventies flick fails on every level unless its aim was to bore you to tears, in which case bravo! At first, it seems like a remake of ‘The Corpse Grinders’ from the year previous sans the goofiness, and like TCG, everything is implied rather than shown. Really, this is a quasi-serious ‘character study,’ about a Eastern European butcher, his accident-prone half-retarded assisstant, and a deaf/mute girl, Maxie, who may or may not have witnessed a body being dismembered and ground up at the butcher’s shop one night. It takes about an hour to set this up, so do yourself a favor: check out  these stills, meditate on how in the world Talia Shire ended up in this, and why did Troma end up distributing it? And then go on with your life instead of wasting it with this garbage. Highlight: I think I saw a chicken get its head cut off. Not exactly a horror movie…
