Firstly, thanks for all these films. Great job.
This may interest some people, particularly in the UK: In the early 1980’s when videos started to take off, there was outrage here in certain quarters that violent and exploitive videos were on sale. Eventually in 1983 our Department of Public Prosecution published their notorious list of “video nasties”. These films were banned on video (not necessarily in the cinema) though many were later released. It is a pretty random list. Some are exploitive trash but others are good horror films from recognized directors. On the subject of censorship, many of your films existed in several versions with different degrees of censorship. It would be useful to know when you post films what version is being posted. Or if that isn’t possible if you could provide the running time it would help identify which version it is.

I remember the BBFC slaughter on these titles quite well, which seems laughable now. Oh the glory days of the early 80s when you could walk into a video shop and marvel at all those creepy covers in the horror section. Then the UK raids started. Makes me sick that even today some man in a suit is telling me (here in the UK) what I can and cant watch. I used to try and track down these titles “under the counter” in the 1980s as I wanted to see something I apparently wasnt allowed to. Those copies were about 50th generation lol. Pretty awful. Now, we can get pristine versions from a site like this and stick our fingers up at the censorshit man. Fuck Y** BBFC

I think the tag comments were about them appearing under the films when you were browsing. I found those useful in assessing aspects of the movie that weren’t clear just by category. I do appreciate you can still search by them (although it requires a bit of lucky guessing) but was wondering if there is a technical reason why they are no longer listed under the films and clickable.

BTW, in my previous comment I should have also added this is an amazing collection. My only complaint was a recent change. Overall an excellent resource for some great hard-to-find flicks that just aren’t available anywhere!

Certainly DONT compress the movies excessively just to make ’em smaller. Generally under 1.5GB is sufficient for a well done DVD rip and yeah many VHS transfers wouldnt be better over 1GB. However while compressing a good source just to make it tiny might look OK on a portable device it suffers a lot if viewed on a modern HDTV for instance a 42 inch and up. Though DVDs are actually analog video players and TVs up convert them well and they can look very good. Converted to digital AVI or MKV etc with reasonable settings they also look fine well under 1.5GB.
Nowadays most pressed DVDs are double layer DVD9s
With MPEG2 data totalling 6 to 7.5GB . This has definitely improved the useful life of DVD format. And if properly converted to digital file still looks great at under 1.5GB. With un-remastered older source material there is little if any advantage to anything over 700-1000MB.

I’d like to add a request–mainly because the TITLE just popped right back into my head after all these years:
“RING OF DESIRE” (1978)
It’s a porno-chic film (from Cal Vista, I think)with an amazing plot (for a porno).
It’s about this ring which grants the wishes of those who wear it or possess it. No biggie, but the same ring passes from person to person so that we get many different scenarios throughout the film. This kinda gives it a Supernatural feel. And, despite the sex scenes, the supernatural angle is played straight. I saw a “cable version” of this film almost 3 decades ago, and would LOVE if the uncut version is found. The writing was nice and it could pass for a cheapie supernatural knockoff. “RING OF DESIRE”–I hope this film still exists. Thanks.

None of the download links seem to be working today. When I attempt to download I receive this message, ” Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”..I’ve tried several movies posted in the last 24 hours. Same message for all.

What iam really missing are the tags which describe the movie, without tags you cant get a hint whats included in the movie and the search option is not really working anymore, could you please add the tags again? At least for all new movies?
