Description: “Blue Movie” is a bizarre and extremely obscure exploitation film obviously inspired by Dusan Makavejew’s “Sweet Movie“. There is no real plot to speak of, just plenty of surreal moments and nudity. The film is loaded with symbolism (the nude toys and dolls) and the use of Bach and Offenbach on the soundtrack is a nice touch. If you like experimental transgressions or obscure Italian cinema give this notorious piece a look. Made by director who also filmed Zelda, another good erotic flick. Some XXX sequences, as well as some surrealistic flashes of mondo/violences, inserted as a-rhythmic cuts into the cinematic narration, are featured, but they are very far from being gratuitous because they depict the disturbing slavery relationship between master and servant and they also give a powerful background to the hallucinatory and horrific atmosphere, please read the great review by Roberto Curti hosted here

Review: “Blue Movie” leaves a strange impression as if Valerian Borovchik Pasolini imagined himself and wants to shoot something existential and philosophical, inspired by the writings of de Sade. However, the fact that Alberto Kavallone, removing his «Blue Movie» inspired “Salo, or the 120 days of Sodom” can not even doubt. Only here the result was, to put it mildly, a bit different. In contrast to the world created by Pasolini, surreal world of “Blue Movie,” there are no intersections with the world of reality has not, and it does not work. All his characters live in a universe of unclaimed sexual experiences, which seem to have (in the opinion of the director) somehow extrapolated to reality through the prism of Freudian theories, only without the help of an expert on psychoanalysis in the message Signor Kavallone for humanity will understand possible. If you do not try to solve the puzzle surreal, but just try to watch a movie, then chances are, you stop viewing fifteen minutes after watching, or become patiently wait for the next stage of sexual perversion – it really depends on your level of depravity.

Sylvia is hiding from the rapists who kidnapped her or she Serial Killer, to kill their sexual partners? Is Leda – poor migrant from the city destroyed by an earthquake or just a made-up story of a masochist? What lies behind the desire Daniela “reborn”? Finally, who is Claudio – perv-koprofil or surrealist artist who seeks inspiration there, where “normal” people will run away, holding his nose? If you do decide to watch the movie to the end, not for erotic scenes on the verge of pornography, then do not expect to find answers to these questions. They will not.

70 years – a time when the nature of human sexuality in the film was investigated by numerous directors as active as never before or since. But in “Blue Movie” Alberto Kavallone that was not enough, and he decided to expand his research using the method of surrealism. However, not having the talent Bunuel or Pasolini, do it for him was not under force. Here and now runs his opus in the department of “seksploteyshn-movie” under the headings “horror / thriller”, though once it was surreal drama. C’est la vie …
