Description: Upon his release from prison after serving a year for the possession and sale of dangerous drugs, Terry Hawkins (Roger Watkins) – ex-con and former amateur pornographer – decides to get back into the movie business, this time branching out into snuff movies. His perspective has been bleakened after wasting a year of his life in jail, and he wants to do something for which he will make some money, and be remembered forever…
He enlists the help of a slaughterhouse worker who was previously jailed for sodomizing a cow, a young cameraman along for the ride, and two desperate and morally bankrupt women. Together they film their murder of a blind man, but when a pair of enterprising smut merchants try to steal the resulting film, Terry gets the band back together to film his revenge on the larcenous pair and their female friend…

Review: In a time when many infamous films of the past are now only classic films of a time long gone, there still are a few films that live up to their infamous reputation, this is one of them. Roger Watkins, with a minimal budget and some influence from the Ed Sanders book “The Family,” a classic book about the life and times of Charles Manson and his gang (The original idea of this possibly being sparked from the “Getting the Fear” chapter which dealt with the rumors of snuff films being made by the Manson Gang), went onto create one of the most unique experiences in 70’s Grindhouse cinema history. Dark and twisted, this was mainly filmed improvised with the original version running about 175 Minutes, a version that’s no longer in existence, but even in it’s 78 Minute cut, the effect is very strong.

This is a genuine cinematic curiosity and I think that any self-respecting horror fan would be missing out by not checking it. It is truly an original, one-off work. Sure, it is ragged around the edges but that is part of what makes it so gritty and atmospheric. The movie has an almost numbing and ethereal quality and really works. Extremely disturbing and definitely recommended.
