A female with an effective taste for the great life would like to do just about anything to help make her daughter a star in this vintage sexploitation opus. Emily Potter (Honey Hunter) is a middle-aged divorcée who has relocated to brand new York City along with her beautiful daughter, Susan (Liza Duran, aka Jennifer Welles); Emily is determined that Susan is going to go locations in program company, though Susan by herself would just as shortly return to her fiancé and small-town life. A fast believer in the power of the casting couch, Emily makes use of her own human body to break up Susan’s engagement and draw in the attentions of a creepy but well-connected professional photographer, while brokering liaisons between Susan and a lesbian talent representative (Merle Miller, aka Georgina Spelvin), a kinky film producer (Charles Carlton Buffum), and an egocentric director. But Susan learns some things regarding the sleazy techniques of the trade en path, and pulls a fast one on Emily into the final reel.Career Bed had been composed and directed by Joel M.
