Description: Not all the “tourist traps” – bait from guidebooks – look alike, thought gay travelers, toured in South America. They did not know that “the museum Slosen” will present a trap for them. The “oasis Slosen” – a picturesque place away from traffic roads – out of hand things, starting to live their hostile person lives. Objects come to life, and people turn into mannequins, obedient to the will of the evil master …
Review: “Tourist Trap” – a very curious old horror movie, which unfortunately undeservedly forgotten. David Schmoller took very atmospheric film with a great story, which even now looks with great interest.
Begins the “Tourist Trap” is pretty standard: a group of young people, as it always happens in horror, car breaks down and they have to go to the “Oasis Slosena”, which risks being the last place guys saw in my life. But the picture has a number of features that do not allow the film to become trite slasher, and it is extremely colorful maniac, very interesting scene and a great atmosphere.
I loved the image of the killer in the film because he did not any butchers who would only pokromsat new victims, and obsessed with one idea person who committed a terrible thing when you are not able to recover from its effects, and created their own world around them dummies that tried to relieve loneliness. For this man murder – a kind of art, and every passing by not only the victim, but first and foremost for her new doll in the world. In this case, he almost did not kill anybody, do it all for the trap and mannequins with whom he has some sort of telepathic communication, the causes of which are interpreted in the film and will explain that is one of the smallest gaps film. In my opinion, a maniac from “Tourist Trap” is one of the best villains I ever seen in a horror movie, and despite the fact that he is a psychopath and a murderer he even sympathize a little.

Superb horror! Stephen King mentioned it in his DANSE MACABRE as a prime example of the genre.

Movie is very much what you would expect from a horror of this time. It is well done within it’s time. Personally, I had hoped for more the psychological horror / mental analysis type of perspective. There are some “issues” portrayed, however they never really dove into them as much as i thought they would.
There was some gore, however, nothing over the top at all.
There was no nudity to speak of.
No real shock and awe.
All in all, glad i watched it. I would not expect that I would watch it again.
