Quite a decent film one of those “once banned.” Apparently at that time the violence and krovische really came the bust. Four bodies in the first half hour, with the slain with a fair amount of instrumental creativity, form hard and fast entry, so that the bulk of the film subsequently may seem monotonous and boring. However, the weakening of the dynamics and tying the killings justified the gradual uncovering of the genre – “Nightmare” is much more like a psychological drama than horror (and it is this fact firmly rejected pretty mediocre remake of 2003 – Toolbox Murders).
