Description: In an effort to destroy a military, man has destroyed almost all men from Earth. Therefore, in the future, women rule and dominate society. Men are outcasts and actually illegal. But there are closet heteros who long for the return of men. A young genetic scientist creates a man but deletes all the genes that caused men to be agressive and violent. She is to present this man at a scientific conference and must keep him hidden until the conference. But this proves difficult as he wanders out into the world and realizes that he is not only one of very few men, but also unwanted by the ruling women.

If anyone ever found themselves wondering why UPN ultimately failed as a network, a glimpse into some of their original productions may offer a hint of a sliver of an answer. While nowhere near as bad as some of the SyFy productions made before or after, 1999’s UPN flick THE LAST MAN ON PLANET EARTH is most assuredly silly on just about any account. Set in a future where 1998 Volkswagen Beetles roam the land, the story finds a world where women have taken over following a decades-old biological weapon managed to wipe out most of the world’s baby daddies and seed-spreaders.

Unable to cope with not having someone to blame everything on during that one specific week per month, and possibly just tired of going through batteries and holographic simulators, Modern Family star Julie Bowen creates a male clone – whom she names “Adam,” naturally – without any aggression whatsoever. Soon, everyone from the FBI to a group of angry old guys who haven’t had it in years (led by Cliff de Young) are after the creation. Paul Francis plays Adam. Sadly, he is not the same Paul Francis as seen in The Skydivers. Tamlyn Tomita, L. Scott Caldwell, Elizabeth Dennehy (Brian’s daughter), Veronica Cartwright, and Tom Hallick also star in this bundle of low-budget TV amusement from director Les Landau and writer Kenneth Biller.
