Review: “Pepi, Lucy, and Bom” – the second feature-length film Spaniard Pedro Almodovar (Entre tinieblas) and the first shot on 16mm film, before filming a short film on vosmimillimetrovuyu camera and a full-length movie with a shocking title, “Well, fuck me now, Tim.” Receiving prosizhivaya film education in the archives and getting acquainted with the classic films of great directors, Almodóvar is initially defined with their own style and interests of its subjects, recognizing only the author’s personal tribute to the movie in the first place to entertain the audience. Money for the filming of “Pepi, Lucy, Bom …” collected all the troupe, including Carmen Maura and Felix Rotaetu (Atolladero), who played a police officer. In the end, filmed by half a million pesetas, collected from many friends of independent filmmakers.
Because Spanish cinema in the years just after the overthrow of the dictatorial revived Franco regime Almodovar’s first tape – not so much a work of art as the avant-garde soul cry, turned to freedom in the most perverse manifestations. By the way, the script is based on the very fotoromane Almodovar with an awfully nice name “Universal erection.” Heroine of the movie “free” as they could be free girl stretching to gay life – sex, grass, punk lifestyle and other amenities such as liberalism, homosexuality, lesbian relationships and selling virginity. However, the film is not so much shocking as entertaining: cheerful music, corny jokes and conversations on which conservatives should at least wrinkle, combine and transform into musical comic farce, which simply can not be angry.
