Description: I hope to visit Greece sometime. I hear great things about the people, climate and culture. I’ll spend some time on the beach, but probably spend most of my vacation holed up in a dusty, musty, video collector store.
Many artifacts from the golden age of Asian trash cinema would have been lost forever if it weren’t for Greek VHS suppliers. The citizens of Cinemageddon salute those intrepid men and women that gambled their firm’s fortunes on the film careers of Mike Monty, Teddy Page, Joseph Lai, and scores of other Asian grindhouse luminaries.
It’s no surprise then, that this dubbed English version of Lunatic Frog Women comes from a Greek VHS. I thought the original Asian language version was pretty entertaining, despite the language barrier. Translated into English, this Taiwanese masterwork is elevated to a new level of girl powered mayhem.
Unfortunately, The Greek subtitles are hard coded. It doesn’t look like the same print was used for the Taiwanese language version. While this presentation is a bit cleaner (fewer splices, less dirt and debris), it’s also a bit softer.
