A cowboy and a farmer in love with the same gorgeous girl in 1925 Texas. She keeps them both on their strings for years without choosing. Then it’s up to life to bring on the changes, like it usually does. With a very interesting cast and the most horrendous make-up towards the end (which we will all try to ignore)
This hard to find on DVD film by Sidney Lumet has only been released in PAL Region 2 and I guess it is a decent enough VHS transfer. We have the usual cropping to 4:3 (unfortunately) and some …hints of 1:85 right before the end credits (a squeezed widescreen sequence which can be button switched to look like it should). Colors interchange between washed out and quite bright (Or is it the seasons changing?). The transfer to PAL must be the reason for minute interlace here and there (but overall this is fairly watchable) and also account for the 4 minute difference to the original 98 minutes release.
