Description:
Patrick McGoohan left us last week, and this is a personal tribute to my long time favourite neurotic from uk.
I found this movie a long time ago and to be honest, the quality is not the best but REALLY watchable. I guess the rip could originally come from a VHS, maybe itself from TV? The sound was out of synchro and full of hum and glitches, voices were muffled… I made such a huge little “3 hours work” on it (even if a few clicks remain, it’s much better than the original). A few parts remain lightly out-of-sync but i’m afraid there’s nothing i can do for this. Anyway, it’s never in dramatical proportions, you can trust me. I also restored the poster specially for this upload.
About the movie itself? Have a look at the screenshots: no more description needed, right? Totally rare and recommended. and, of course, an upgrade is more than welcome! Enjoy, and send some smokes!
And IF YOU TAKE THE MOVIE LEAVE AT LEAST A COMMENT!!!

I find most plot synopses tedious and useless. Let this quote suffice:
Only people who can help Son now ‘re his friends—only he don’t have one now.
The relationships between Alan Alda, Patrick McGoohan, and Richard Widmark’s characters make for some Krazy Kat level shit. The movie could have gone on another two hours. (Except that it couldn’t—you’ll see.)
McGoohan starts out as one scary motherfucker. And then Widmark comes along and smiles and gladhands him right outta the park. Some actors when they get older they start to caricature themselves. Not Widmark. He downplays the manic energy, that psychotic laugh, and it’s every bit as effective. More so. Widmark the man was married to the same woman for 55 years, a gun control advocate who “abhor[red] violence” (his words); but onscreen, holy shit.
Lee Hazlewood makes his first credited screen appearance as Widmark’s Renfield. This is a great role, and memorable, but not a star-making one. I don’t know what he could have been thinking except that he must have had the same approach to movies as he did to music: do something weird and great and the right people will notice. Doesn’t seem to have worked.
It’s written by Elmore Leonard, the Dickens of Detroit, the guy who wrote the story that Tarantino’s best movie is based on. Great fucking movie. Five/5, follow with Mudhoney (1965) or some other dumb silly hillbilly thing.
Another good moonshiner movie is Thunder Road (1958), starring Robert Mitchum and featuring its own theme song (!) written and performed by Mitchum (!!).

I in due to the care and kindness you put in to trying to revive a beat up pos copy of a film starring an actor you have such respect for. That, and, given your range of films, alone says this is certainly worth a watch. So, I’m off and will watch soon, looking forward to it. Nice to know there are other weirdos out there that would put the time and energy into such a product as opposed to continually scour the www for a copy, not that you didn’t, or, allowed the web to scour you after this post. Ok, This Droog is out, KUDOS! Wip.
