Description: Patrick Lung Kong once again focuses on women and outcasts, this time in a tale of young delinquent girls and their friendships and the injustice and gender typifying they face in the world around them.  A mixture of emotionally wrenching melodrama, rebel-with-a-cause style juvenile drama and with touches of comedy and prison film (think more Prison on Fire than some women-in-prison skin flick). Even by today’s standards a radically empowering film about young girls seeking emancipation in a patriarchal society.

Patrick Lung kong is an influential figure in the history of Hong Kong cinema. Not just because his film Story of a Discharged Prisoner was later remede into A Better Tomorrow by John Woo. The new wave directors all give credit to Lung for his non-exploitative focus on social themes and controversial toppics like juvenile crime, drugs, prostitution, corruption etc.
