Mädchen Amick and Alice Krige. Two reasons enough to see this movie. But this is actually a really good story of werecats, and the lives they try to lead against nature and the people around them. The same inner struggle that effects most of us eventually weighs them down, however, and they face the choices that must be made between monster and man…desire and love. A Stephen King classic. Be sure to catch a modern re-make of Cat People, starring Nastassja Kinski (daughter of the enigmatic Klaus Kinski) another great werecat flick here on this site.

Another darn good movie, thank you!!

Reminds me of the CAT PEOPLE 1978 movie (were-panther incestual siblings). However, this movie is far more unintentionally silly than that. From the hundreds of housecats hanging from nooses in a tree to the sporadic racoon-snap-trap noises (which quickly becomes a comedic running gag without even trying) and the ending itself which is funnily stupid, the movie just rolls along like a bicycle with egg-shaped wheels.
The female highschool-girl romantic character is pretty yet odd, so it is hard to sympathize with her plight. Now granted, this movie is trying to generally play it seriously like most Stephen King (assassin of John Lennon) stories and even has squeaking notes of Egyptian Cat God/Monster origin plot points, but when you take it as a whole movie, it is simply a dark silly unintentional comedy play (missing open joke lines) with some erotic elements. Not really a kids movie, but generally dumb enough & long enough to be a slightly bloodier version of a GOOSEBUMPS episode.
