Storyline Jessica Matthews is an ambitious journalist who has been conducting a detailed investigation and is on to a juicy story concerning a corrupt major business figure, Mike Florian . Her commitment to securing the story has led to a rift between her and her writer husband Greg due to the time she’s putting in on the investigation. When Greg goes away on a book-signing tour Jessica finds a set of photographs in his suit that leads her to believe that he’s having an affair with glamour model and part time prostitute Traci . Jessica determines to confront Traci and when she does so she discovers a lot more than the grubby affair she anticipated and soon funds herself sucked into a dangerous game of high stakes corruption and criminality. The overall story and character motivations in “The Other Woman” are pretty preposterous, but the whole thing works as a fairly unpretentious but enjoyable little erotic thriller. Directed by the late Indian filmmaker Jag Mundhra, this is possibly his best film, although I’m not sure why he bathes everything in such an unnecessary soft sheen focus. The two lead actresses are fairly solid, with Lee Anne Beaman putting in a good turn as the prudish journalist caught up in events out with her control. This was former Penthouse model Juliet Reagh’s first film and although she is pretty wooden, she’s always interesting to watch… | |
