Description: Excellent musical drama featuring an outstanding Curtis Mayfield score and a stunning performance from the gorgeous Lonette McKee. Three sisters living in Harlem in the late 1950s decide, with help from two of their boyfriends (Philip Michael Thomas and Dorian Harewood) to start a singing group. They achieve some success but lots of negative elements obstruct their path to fame and fortune…and eventually future Fame star Irene Cara must find the courage to lead the girls to glory. It’s a wonderful film (written by Joel Schumacher) full of terrific music, true love, domestic violence, drugs, mafioso, and even more music.
