Corps perdus

In France, art restorer Eric Desange  has a passion  for the works of the late, hideously-deformed artist Juan Bax, who, years after his death, is becoming popular. Eric goes to Buenos Aires to  restore one of Bax’ paintings, which lovers  Laura and Carlos,  have discovered  in their attic. They hope that the sale of the painting  will allow them to transform their home into a gymnastics club.

In restoring the painting, Eric  discovers  a second painting underneath Box’ painting.   The second painting shows singer Letizia Fiume, with whom Bax was madly in love, naked.  Eric  has a strange flashback:  Bax painted the picture of  Letizia  without her knowledge. Even though  Letizia  rejected him because of a hideous scar that disfigured him, Box did not hesitate to paint over the picture of the naked Letizia.  Laura  turns out to be  Letizia’s granddaughter, which causes Eric and Laura to fall into each others arms, as if possessed. Carlos is angry but  the painting casts its spell  over them.
