Description: Not science fiction as such, more a work of speculative fiction. With police beating people to death on the streets and an increasingly vile authoritarian culture of surveillance and torture a daily reality, this movie seems as relevant now as it ever has been.
Young radicals and insurgents on the one hand , conservatives and conformists as representatives of the repressive machinery of the state apparatus directed against liberal elements on the other. One layer superimposed on another conflict : this is the age-old conflict between the generations , and the clash of different opinions and views , followed by violent suppression of the unwanted. If you operate a convenience so hackneyed notion as “system” , the voice that speaks to her disagreeable things should be suppressed in the bud in the form of a typical fight is not with the cause, but with the investigation in order to preserve their internal order and foundations . And no matter what that voice said , because ultimately by manipulation and outright manipulation of facts ( as is currently the case ) , you can easily shape public opinion in their favor . And for those who doubt the prevailing ideological positions in society can arrange a demonstration of judgment , where no guilty only in their disagreement receive disproportionately high time or cruel alternative. Here ends the tale of a fair and free society and begins harsh reality is rejected by all , when the output is not there.

OH HOLY CRAP! I’ve been looking for this one for years since i saw it in a Subversive Film course in the 80’s.
Dystopian police state, hunting dissidents presented as a game show, manipulation of the public’s perception via TV….
it was made during the Nixon administration but now it’s more relevant and believable than ever. GET IT NOW AND WATCH IT.
