Description: I get a slight The Shining & Misery (1990) vibe from this. I think some of the main female character was inspired by Kathy Bates in Misery, and of course the whole writing/sanity/dream sequence feeling from The Shining, not to mention the main character is also named Jack. I noticed what I thought were a couple of Misery homages in the girl’s mannerisms, but it might just be in my head. There are also some Saw type vibes. This movie isn’t near as good as The Shining or Misery obviously, but I did like it more than Saw. The plot gets a little bit confused here or there towards the end. Seems like the screenplay/script could have benefited from further editing, but overall I enjoyed this movie. A solid effort with decent acting and writing. I’m sure other fans of Michael Berryman or Edward Furlong would enjoy this movie as well.
Review: The plot of the film Below Zero is built around a writer named Jack, experiencing a sharp creative crisis. Dreaming to commit suicide, the writer chooses to be extremely original way: he is locked in the refrigerator. With decreasing temperature, the line between reality and imagination is erased, and Jack with his head immersed in a frightening world of their own fantasies.
