Description of Demented movie: A woman is gang-raped in a horse’s steady, and although the rapists are caught and imprisoned, she’s harassed many moons later by awful thoughts of her tormentors, while her spouse philanders and every little thing frightens her out of her wits.
Our Linda, heroine, is gang-raped by four disguised hoodlums. They go to the Linda and slammer goes to the sanitarium (or “sanatarium” as the filmmakers decide to spell it) before being released to the treatment of spouse Harry Reems. He’s generally out philandering so Linda has a lot of time to hallucinate and imagine the rapists are in the house with her. This quickly correlates with house invasions by four neighborhood youngsters out to terrorize her. She hits right back, many slow and talky reels of film later. The last half hour, for individuals who make it that far, functions castration via piano wire as well as enjoyable with a meat cleaver and a shotgun. Unfortunately you have to sit through some of the worst screenwriting and most inane discussion in the meanwhile. To be blunt, the only explanation I made it through was because Sallee Elyse is so well-stacked. It sure wasn’t due to her whiny, high-pitched acting though in all fairness, she had plenty of help from a mis-director who permitted her to mispronounce other characters’ names and at the same time screech like a kid and bleat like a sheep.
