A blind lady is living in the woods. The wintertime is chilly, especially if you are by yourself. Then, one evening a blonde, intense woodcutter hits on her door. And her feelings restore, as she rediscovers the pleasures of love and sex. Outlined in this way, it seems like the weak story of the soppiest book ever. Rather, this is a humorous “soft-porn” film, full of referrals to Russ Meyer (Mondo Keyhole) and to German sexual plays of the 70s, as certainly as to Todd Haynes’ Far From Heaven. With the not trivial detail that the heroes are real people outfitted up as puppets…
