Description: Italian director Marco Bellokko always been interested in the problem of madness, mystery and incomprehensibility ща abnormal natures, which sometimes can see the light that is inaccessible to common sense. Already in his bright and furious debut “Fists in the Pocket” (1965) intuitively caught the connection between the mental state of the characters and the atmosphere of the inevitable collapse of the old system of bourgeois existence “of the revolution.” But the rebellious mood, who owned a director in the late 60’s, were replaced by apathy and confusion in the early 70’s after the collapse of the illusion of freedom and revolutionary changes.
It is significant that the name “decoupled crazy” Bellokko documentary, filmed in 1975, is not only symbolic for the entire post-revolutionary era in Europe, but also important for the creative career of the director. Real the release of patients from psychiatric hospitals in Italy (think that this fact is used in the art of “nostalgia” by Andrei Tarkovsky, whose operator Giuseppe Lanci constantly worked with Marco Bellokko in 80 years) is in the films “Henry IV», «The Devil in flesh “and” Vision of Sabbath “almost the underlying motivation.
In the last of these tapes director almost gets rid of the slim plot, making the action in the nervous, overwrought, just hysterically pantamimo cinema. It is no accident that this dumb (!) Scene is the culmination of an imaginary Sabbath. Although the best episodes of the film, really emotional and cinematic – a rustic holiday, where contemporary Italian girl (her, by the way, is called Sabbah, which in Italian – “Sabbath”), who considers herself a witch four hundred and dancing with a young psychiatrist David, just studying its strange obsession.
