Description: This film would have probably sucked at theaters. Being that it was a direct-to-video I didn’t think it was going to be a good, but I got a real surprise out of it. It’s kinda like a cross between “What Lies Beneath” and “Psycho” with a little bit of “I Know What You Did Last Summer”. It starts off with this kind of ghost story vibe but then mutates into a psychological thriller. I don’t at all consider this film to be a slasher flick, so if you’re tired of slasher movies, but love to be scared, this would be you’re movie. The best part about it is it keeps you guessing up to the last minute. I mean this is one of those films where anybody could be the killer, and it’s jam-packed with powerhouse performances. It could be Christina herself, played by the beautiful Allison Lange, who just seems to be going crazy like her institutionalized mother. It could be her sick and sometimes perverted father played by an age-beaten John Savage. It could be her slacker brother who’s just been picked on by her friends one too many times. It could be her insanely jealous boyfriend, Eddie, played by the always intriguing Brendan Fehr. It could be the town sheriff, who is, well, just crazy. Or it could be her handsome carpenter friend, Howie, played by one my favorite direct-to-video stars Brad Rowe of “Body Shots”. Get ready for a thriller that’s killer.
