Description: Circus performers, members of the mixed Hungarian-Romanian families are fleeing in search of a better life from Romania in times of Ceausescu to the West. To feed themselves, they are forced to perform circus acts, involving extreme risk, for example, the mother of Sabina hanging under the big top on her own hairs and juggling with lighted torches. Her daughter Aglaya every day fears that mother will fall down. This fear fills her life, but one day she will have to take place of her mother. The film Aglaja is based on real events.
