Description of Viva movie: In this satire of American sexual mores in the early 1970s, Barbi, an ordinary Los Angeles woman who has recently lost her job, becomes enmeshed in the sexual revolution at a time when it was in full swing. Barbi’s workaholic husband, Rick, goes on a business trip to a ski resort in Colorado, thereby causing a huge fight with Barbi. Led by her liberated friend, Sheila, who has just split up wither her husband, Barbi seeks new adventures where she can find a warm, sensitive man, while Sheila looks for a rich man who can pamper her. Together, the two women enter the new world of sexual freedom, adopting new names – Barbi as “Viva” and Sheila as “Candy” – agreeing to become prostitutes in order to do so. Using her new persona, “Viva” is exposed to a world of nudist camps, lesbian sex, drugs and orgies.
