Description of Smoke movie: Mainly a vehicle for Lee Hazlewood, starring as the American leader of a group of pot-smoking hippie anarchists who live in conflict with their employer – having a bad influence on his daughter – and end up occupying a radio station, with fatal results. Christina features occasionally as a dim babe taken in by his cadre and her wonderful breasts get an outing, but the overall sex & nudity content is small. Good soundtrack though, and it’s of interest to those fascinated by late Hippiedom. Extremely hard to find, this, so I hope somebody enjoys it.
Review: Lee Hazelwood plays Smoke. An American in Sweden, who works at a local factory and lives in a collective with other hippies and factory workers (among them Christina Lindberg). Together these youngsters go on strike. The owner’s daughter, who Smokes dates, gets murdered (‘smoked’) by one of the factory worker whom later blames Smoke. Smoke gets shot and wounded, and everything is down from there.
