  There were many different points of view in 1927 just as there are now. Remember, the slavery of blacks was fought — not just in Europe but also America — by white people, without whom the blacks would still be slaves. And yes, blacks were involved in the slave trade, too. The most common route for a black person to become a slave was to be captured by a marauding tribe of black people and sold to slavers — both white and black — who were the “front end” of the trade.

  As far as the “barbaric savages” the native Amerinds, they did, indeed, fail to develop a higher capacity civilization. A single nation of Europe supported more people than the entirety of the USA and Canada prior to the arrival of the first explorers… and which population was then literally decimated even further by diseases which they had no resistance to, like Smallpox and even the simple Flu. There was no need to deliberately pass diseases onto the Native Amerinds, they’d catch plenty of diseases just by being around Europeans who had the sniffles.

  As to their failure to create a civilization using iron from inside the mountain, because it was inside the mountain, where the hell do you think the Europeans got it from? Inside the mountains — DUH.
