Well what can I write about this film… It’s peplum. This Italian peplum. This Italian peplum 50s. Actually, the more can not continue — and all so clear. I was interested in only the fact that a movie about Byzantium and the Eastern Empire in the historic cinema generally rather poorly lit. In General, I did pometochku in the special list of “Movies on interesting and rare topics”, but the painting itself is, alas, not particularly liked. In an asset you can write a good scene of chariot races (even before “Ben-Hur”, please note!) as well as a pair of beautiful Actresses with whom European cinema never had any problems. The rest is boring: battle and exenophobia scenes little rebellion “nick” shot somehow ugly and a mess, Justinian dull (it’s not Orson Welles!), costumes and extras sometimes funny. Directed by Ricardo Freda, also known for his horror works, such as “the Terrible secret of Dr. hichcock”
