It is very strange to write about a film that has a rating about 3 points. Especially I liked the movie, although I understand those who gave this movie low scores, just such brutality will take not everyone is really “nasty” film, but that’s why I like it. This film shows only “dark” side of human nature, and sometimes very useful to see that many people are very cruel by nature and willing to do very dirty things. However, this film represents not just mindless, unwarranted cruelty, this film is instructive and shows that in every action should be appropriate punishment.
“Freak show” is difficult to explain the film. The most part, it seems that watching trash, just looks like that is poor and not serious, but nevertheless, such a perception is wrong, this is a very serious drama and even ironically, is an author, art-house film. Also, I would good reproduction of an earlier era, despite the fact that the film was shot in 2007, it seems that the film was made much earlier, and it’s more of a plus than a minus.
Regarding acting, I note that much impressive play saw. But freaks really look ugly and Rebekah Kochan — virtuoso bitch, manipulating the “poor bastards” as he wants, the benefit of the host institution fell for her beauty, but she’ll seduce him by any means, if only he didn’t suspect anything bad.
Now it is necessary to say a few words about the final film. Because of finals I consider this film to horror. He’s just striking in its candor and cruelty, and this is not the case when these qualities seem to be unnecessary. At the moment we see that the physical freaks become moral, but if the physical ugliness of their endowed nature, that made them cruel people. After all, these people, whom we call freaks, suffer only ridicule and contempt, it is not surprising that their hearts hardened, and they threw out all the anger that had been growing in them for years. I’m not going to justify or condemn, everyone will make their own conclusion, but I think to understand these people.
I have long doubted his assessment of this film, throughout most of the film I didn’t want to put it a high rating, but shocking finale and the philosophy that carries this film changed my opinion. And people who criticize this film for unjustified cruelty and complete meaninglessness, let them look raspiarenny “Funny games” by Michael Haneke, there is certainly they will find a lot of sense. And I’ll stay with my “Freakshow”.
