Description:

Year 1988 for the slasher was very good, standing out against the background more saturated genre releases 1987 the most striking examples. In this year came not only beautiful seventh part of the “Friday the 13th”, but the two resemble each other like twins, horror film “the Uninvited Guest” and this – “peekaboo” (or “Hide and Cry out” on other versions of voice). The action occurs in both the supermarket, where a group of young people will be involved in committed uninvited maniac massacre.

In contrast to the “Guest”, you don’t need to guess who is the maniac. The events are displayed in such a form that the suspect just one, and when such evidence try to disassociate themselves from any guilty thoughts in his direction. The benefit is not so trivial, and intensive final horror film to be respected. The sudden appearance of the murderer, his pronounced psychosis, as well as the diversity of corpses terrorized and held in tension. And the video entertains a large number of naked girls.

The film is essentially devoid of the heroine or hero, if in the beginning was still trying to move some of the characters forward, then to the middle of the film all become equal, and the authors generally forget movies what genre is removed. Young people having fun, making fun of, is actively engaged in sex, plays hide-and-seek in the vast night of multi-storey store, talking on their topics and couples flirting. The film takes place in the style of youth life, without much Comedy or drama. The passions will break somewhere in the last quarter, but the first murder to wait minutes somewhere under forty.

And it’s not to say that all of these conversations and the fun can be distinguished acting. The characters are natural and sincere, and nothing more is needed. The high number of erotica will enjoy frequent female breast male part of the audience, and muscular torsos and male Asses – will try to catch the female. Playing with pubertal desires, Director Skip SKOLNIK and screenwriter Michael Kelly completely forget that they slasher. The overwhelming number of murders happening outside the frame, and even in the most critical moments on screen never appears cold sight until closer to the end we finally does not serve the chic scene with the severed head, and the episode with a knife in the throat.

But being so bloody, “Hide and Go Shriek ” remains less stressful. The whole plot with surveillance, wandering in the shadows and other forcing the atmosphere visual techniques after the first murder actively move the movie into a genre framework, presenting still slasher at its best. The further – the more terrible, bloodier and more! The characters are quite adequate shock and horror react to the disappearance and death, quite logically trying to escape and call for help, and not relaxed are brutal paws of impending death, and try together to give a fitting rebuff, and in General to keep the team and not wander alone for a speedy killing.

With the story in this horror too, all in order. The idea is so killer managed and looks great, no need to wrestle for miscalculation, who was at this time, linking frequent examples of the final turns to the logic of the developing action. Well, about the massacre in the store, in addition to the already above mentioned “Uninvited guest” come except that Bloody Dedication “Yes “Robot killer: the Massacre in the supermarket” – both, incidentally, is also excellent examples of the slasher. So the topic is not new, and yet not so often these decorations mozolic eyes to scold picture for originality.

SKOLNIK and Kelly is the only full-length work for the big screen, for Kelly so do the latter, and the Director then decided to devote himself to the series. And it’s sad, their first experience in the genre is not proved to be not only a success, but the final quarter are generally well brighten up all the delays and shortcomings of the first half of the film. Yes and boring this horror cannot be called, though bloody steps have to wait pretty, not one of them the picture interesting. Moreover, it is necessary to praise and casting, successfully coped with their roles on the screen.

Good ending most impressive way brings a pleasant outcome, but the film is at its obscure is not a rarity or difficult to view, and any fan of this branch of horror will be able to adequately and certainly appreciate good cinema. “Peekaboo” will be remembered and impress, immersed in its atmosphere and will leave pleasant memories from view. A good horror film of the late eighties, showing by his example how to shoot. Super!
